We're GUSH, and we're big on consent — so here's exactly what we do with your data, in plain English. No jargon, no buried surprises. If anything here isn't clear, email us and we'll explain it properly.
 

This policy covers everything you do on our website and any emails you get from us.
 

Who we are

GUSH is operated by GUSH Ltd.

We are the "data controller" for the information described here — that means we're the ones responsible for looking after it.

What we collect

Right now, GUSH is pre-launch, so we collect very little:

• When you join our waitlist: your first name, last name, email address, and — if you choose to share it — your date of birth. If you tell us which product you're interested in, we note that too.

• When you use our site: some basic technical information is collected automatically by our website platform, such as your device type, browser, and general activity on the site (for example, which pages you visit). This helps us understand how the site is being used and keep it working.
   

We do not collect payment or card details, because we're not selling anything yet. When that changes, we'll update this policy before you're ever asked to pay.
 

How we collect it

• Directly from you — when you fill in the waitlist form or reply to one of our emails.

• Automatically — through our website platform's built-in analytics when you browse the site (see Cookies & analytics below).
   

Why we use it, and our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we have to have a valid reason ("lawful basis") for using your data. Here's ours, purpose by purpose:

Email you about the launch, founding-member pricing, taster and review opportunities, and GUSH updates Because you asked us to and ticked the consent box.
 

Send you a birthday treat, and tailor who we invite to taster/research opportunities. 

Keep our waitlist accurate and running to manage our own list and records legitimate interests (running our business).

Understand how our website is used, via basic analytics. To keep the site working and improve it. Legitimate interests, and consent where cookies require it.

You can withdraw it at any time — it won't affect anything we did before you did.

Cookies & analytics

Our website runs on Wix, which uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site function and to give us basic, aggregated analytics about how visitors use it (things like page views and general activity). Some of these cookies are essential for the site to work; others are optional.
 

You can control or refuse cookies through the cookie banner on our site and through your browser settings. Turning off non-essential cookies won't stop you using the site. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking beyond what our website platform provides. 

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. Full stop.

We use trusted service providers to run our website and send our emails — currently Wix, which hosts our site, stores our waitlist, and powers our email tools. They process your data on our behalf and only on our instructions, under a contract that requires them to keep it secure.

We don't share your details with any other organisation for their own marketing. We'd only ever disclose your data beyond this if we were legally required to (for example, by a court order).

Where your data is stored

Our service providers may store or process data on servers outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on their commitment to protect your data to UK-equivalent standards, using the safeguards required by UK data protection law (such as approved contractual clauses). You can ask us for more detail at any time.
 

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you're on our waitlist. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you, we'll remove your personal data promptly, keeping only anything we're legally obliged to retain.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• See what personal data we hold about you

• Correct anything that's wrong

• Delete your data ("right to erasure")

• Restrict or object to how we use it

• Withdraw consent at any time

• Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk— though we'd genuinely appreciate the chance to put things right first.
 

Changing your mind

Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link. One click and you're out — no hard feelings, no follow-up. You can also email us any time to be removed.
 

Changes to this policy

As GUSH grows — especially once we start selling — we'll update this policy to reflect what we actually do with your data, and we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. If we ever make a significant change to how we use your information, we'll let you know.
